NFIRS 5.0 Element: ‘Air Temperature’

Definition : Air temperature is measured in degrees Fahrenheit at the location of the fire origin when the fire started.

Purpose : Temperature information is used to access the potential for ignition in various weather conditions and to understand problems associated with suppressing fires in different ambient temperatures levels.
Entry : Enter the actual or estimated air temperature in degrees Fahrenheit at the time the incident started. If the temperature is below zero, check or mark the box that indicates a negative temperature.

Element Type Numeric – Integer numbers (no decimal points). If the user has not provided information, an empty field should be transmitted. All integer values are assumed to be positive.
