NFIRS 5.0 Element: ‘Patient Transfer Date/Time’
Definition : The time when the response unit physically left the scene to transport the patient to an emergency care facility or the time when the patient was transferred to another care provider.
Purpose : This information is needed to analyze time spent providing patient care on the scene of an incident. If the Apparatus/Personnel Module (NFIRS–9/–10) is also used, then this element can document situations when there is a significant delay between the time the response unit arrives on the scene and the time at which personnel can access the patient.

Entry : For each incident, enter the dates (mm/dd/yyyy) and times of day (using the 24-hour clock) when the patient was transferred to another care provider. Midnight is 0000 and signifies the start of a new day.
