NFIRS 5.0 Element: ‘Property Value’

Definition : Estimate of the total pre-incident property dollar value. Estimation of the replacement cost of the structure.
Purpose : Pre-incident values help delimit the magnitude of the potential fire problem by providing a basis for comparison
Entry : Enter the best estimate of pre-incident value (local option) that is practical to make or obtain. If there was no pre-incident value, check or mark the appropriate None box.

Requirement Optional
Element Type Numeric – Integer numbers (no decimal points). If the user has not provided information, an empty field should be transmitted. All integer values are assumed to be positive. Any fields which allow a negative integer value have been denoted with ‘+ or –’ in the comment field. Negative numbers should be transmitted with the minus sign preceding the digits.
