NFIRS 5.0 Element: ‘Special Study Identification Number’
Definition : This number uniquely identifies each special study that is being run by the fire department, State, or NFDC.
Purpose : The use of special studies allows departments, States, and the NFDC to quickly collect information on an issue or problem and to answer a specific question through the temporary use of a special study field over a defined period of time. This is a State or local option.

Negative numbers should be transmitted with the minus sign preceding the digits. – Maximum length 5 characters |
